Re: WIN Prizes! NEW: Fightin' Words – ends 1 Feb
Facing and mastering fears is certainly an important part of martial arts training, as we need to step outside our comfort zone in order to grow and improve.
In martial arts, the gradual learning process allows us to challenge ourselves and move beyond our comfort zone a bit at a time, expanding our skills and knowledge base as we go.
Training in the martial arts presents many opportunities to face and master fear, whether it be preparing for a grading; rehearsing for a public demonstration; conditioning to break wood, tiles or ice; competing in multi-style tournaments such as the National All Styles (NAS) Championships; fighting in amateur or professional combat sports such as full-contact Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA; scenario training in Reality-Based Self-Defence; or having seniors get out in front of the class to develop public speaking and teaching skills.
Stepping outside our comfort zone causes us some level of pain, discomfort and fear. The self-discipline instilled in the martial arts environment goes a long way to help martial artists overcome this pain, discomfort and fear, giving martial artists the ability to, as best-selling author Susan Jeffers says, “Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway”.

I reckon knocking on a complete strangers door trying to sell a Martial arts membership program...or standing in front of a class with 2 months experience in a B&W belt...that would scare the bejesus outta me ...

Ummmmm, Hello,
Admin?
Are you there?
Oh no they're gone...
Even Admin has left....
No, I cant tell the others, there'll be Anarchy, people will post events, some little club from Warracknabeal will post information about a training day or something and take over the Martial Arts industry...
Does that mean I didn't win?
