G'day all, my name is Dan, and I'm from Adelaide, SA. I train in Krav Maga at Street-Defensive Tactics (www.sdtactics.com.au) under Graham Keurschner. You've probably read some of his articles in the blitz mag in 'Martial Minds'. :)

Howdy, my name's Ray, and I dwell in Adelaide, SA. I train with Matt Jones at ISO...and if I'm not very much mistaken, that's Madigan lurking over there :P

Hey Ray, I know you, didn't know you were also into Martial Arts though... :P

G'day,
My name is Aaron and I live in Mandurah WA, I train in Traditional Wing Chun (William Cheung Lineage.) I'm currently 20 years old and have been training in Wing Chun for around 12 years. Was going to reply to a heap of Wing Chun posts a few months ago but I got hit with Uni exams and when I came back the whole forum had moved - it's going to take a while to get use to this new one.
Looking forward to catching up on the discussion I've missed and hopefully posting a lot more (now that I'm a lot older than when I first found the blitz forum)

Cheers,
Aaron

Hi everyone,

I'm 23, living on the NW coast of Tas.

Was training with Walsh Martial Arts for about 18months, a mixture of taekwondo and a some elements of hapkido. Thoroughly enjoyed my time training with Mr Ian Hunter, and also was very impressed by the Grandmaster, Mr Terry Walsh, when I had to chance to grade under his supervision. Unfortunatley Mr Hunter left the state for some time, and it is unclear as to whether he will return to teaching any time in the near future.

So, I decided to go and study another art that I had been interested in for some time, judo.
Although I've only been and watched one lesson, and participated in only one myself, I can tell that I am going to enjoy the experience very much. Deakin, Palmer and Von Bibra at Tas Judo Fed. have all made me feel very welcome. I am especially impressed by Mr Deakins wealth of knoweldge and experience. I think this is now his 51st year being involved in judo.

Will def. continue with my judo training, and if Mr Hunter returns to teaching I would very much like to continue to work towards my black belt with him also.

So yeah, that's me!

Hi my names Edwin Smith and I am the founder of Ren Nai Martial Arts,
I started doing boxing in England when i was 8 years old and then moved onto do shotokan and moved to Australia to go onto goshin ryu, jeet kune do aswell as continuing shotokan, I have now been doing martial arts for 41 years.
I have lived and trained in china, Thailand and the Philippines.
I enjoy mixing styles of Japanese and Chinese aswell as MMA (whatever works i like to teach & use all from my various experiences)
My grading system is similar to shotokan and goshin ryu aswell as budo styles.

I run a Martial Arts school in the western suburb of sydney (wentworthville) for all ages teaching traditional syllabus but also keep things modern and effective, at Ren Nai we believe in keeping training hard, disciplined and effective aswell as friendly and non-egotistical approach not only do we teach how to fight, but how not to fight.

Hi Rennai

Welcome on board, sounds like you have a very open mind, would be interested in what parts of shotokan you still train in, do you do kihon kata and kumite from shotokan?

Hi all,

My name is Scott. I'm 23 and train in Eskrima and Freestyle kickboxing (Muay Thai based). Ive traveled to Thailand twice to train, and would recommend to anyone to try. Hoping to visit the Philippines in 2010. I train with a friend in Wing Chun as well, which I feel has complimented my other training greatly. I enjoy Karate kata as well (ZDK lineage).

Am a longtime reader of the Blitz mag, and stumbled across the forum which is full of great info.

peace,
Scott

Hi, my name is Chris and this is my third try at posting an intro...
I am a very keen Adelaide based martial artist, actively training in Krav Maga, BJJ, Judo and kickboxing (twice a week each). I have been training since the mid 80s, including 5 years in Japan. Instead of opening 'just another club' on my return from Japan, I have started the SA Martial Arts Newsletter, which is my attempt at improving communication and cooperation between martial artists in Adelaide. If anyone has any SA info, please email me at SAMartialartsnewsletter@gmail.com.
I look forward to sharing opinions with you all on this forum.
:D

Hi everyone.

My name's Justin, i've been practising Traditional Karate in Albury-Wodonga for nearly 5 years now, and have been reading Blitz for just as long.

I'm very dedicated to my training (bordering on obsession :P ) and am always looking for ways to improve the skills I have been lucky enough to learn through Karatedo.

I'm interested in Kata Bunkai, so to any like minded people out there, don't hesitate to contact me. I'd be happy to hear any and all opinions and ideas on Kata and other aspects of Karatedo.
