Hey all,

I'm Josh.

I was a pretty serious martial artist all through my teens and into my mid twenties, having done a whole range of styles, I've taken a bit of a hiatus (about five years) and am now looking to get back into training. I'm 31 and living in Melbourne.

Hello all.

My name is Ben.

By way of introduction, well lets say I always talked to much so probably write too much as well.
I have a strong background in Muay Thai, have dabbled in BJJ, owe a lot of inspiration to Steve Retel's Club Maul in WA, where I was once a member. I've had a look at a few other things along the way.

Transferred to Alice Springs about 18 months ago with the dastardly boys in khaki. I've been a screw, an Immigration Detention Officer and worked the doors for some years before realizing that no body was going to give me a mortgage if I continued.
I am 31.

When I came to Alice I looked for the local aggressive kick boxing/MMA club. Failed, looked for wrestling, failed and looked again. While the Alice boasts a motley collection of some very good martial artists, there were none doing what I was looking for to keep me on my game in a tough environment.

I trained with a few followers of the man hurting arts in my yard for awhile Bla bla bla and now run a fairly successful MA club based at the local YMCA.

By hook and by crook, my club now boasts a decent curriculum with Zen Do Kai Monday, BJJ Tuesday, Thai/MMA Wed and Fri and Women's fitness and self defence on Thursday. I teach the Wed Fri class.

I hope to draw on all the years of experience available on this site to give me direction and wisdom in relation to the practical combat arts that have helped me so much over my somewhat checkered career.

If for any reason any of you find yourselves en route to the red center please drop me a line.

My name is Michael .

My martial arts background comes initially from father who was a bit of a boxer boxer himself and served in the war and he started training me in boxing. From there trained with the PCYC in Boxing and Judo which was all the rage back then.
I competed in a lot of Boxing events . Nothing special.

I also did Judo 18 months on and off and achieved a Brown Belt but did not pursue it further.

I have gone on to do some Muay Thai and Shorinryu Karate but do not consider myself a world beater at either!

and no I am not magpie!

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

Hey Guys. Quick introduction.

My Names Luke and I'm from Bendigo Victoria. 25 years old and trained Wing Chun for roughly 6 years before having a couple of years off (Teacher left town). Just got back into that now under one of the experienced students from back then. Also been training Hapkido for about a year and a half which is my primary training style now.
Also dabble in the ground game but am very green still. (Got to start somewhere).

Happily married and sell Plumbing supplies for a living (lol hardcore job right there :P )

Cheers.

Hello all

My name is Karl by way of introduction.

I have not been training for a couple of years. Started training in Jishukan Ryu Ju Jutsu, then got into Jin Wu Koon Double Dragon that my instructor broke away from and formed Shaolin Diciples Australia (Greg Peterson aka Shi De Chuan). Then took a break for some time. Then a little bit of this and that.

One day I will get back into training.

Interesting, I know a young lad by the name of Luke who lives in Bendigo, trained WC with us for a while, good bloke. Surely this is not the one and the same. Last time I spoke to him there was no-one of any standard teaching WC in Bendigo, who is the guy teaching there now?

G'day all,

Long time reader first time poster.....

My name is Craig and have only just started in the martial arts. I've been studying Shinkendo/Toyama Ryu for almost 3 years in Melbourne and am enjoying it immensely. Hopefully I'll have something useful to contribute one day!

Cheers all,

Hi, my name is Majd and I've been lurking on this site for quite awhile. I really enjoy the community so now I've finally decided to become a part of it. I've always been a big fan of martial arts and it's something that I'm very passionate about. Recently, I've decided to get into Tae Kwon Do and plan on joining the ATA in my area. I'm looking forward to sharing discussions with the rest of the people here. So thank you for allowing me to take part in this community.
