Free knife seminars offered in WA

Perth-based instructor Mannie de Matos is offering free one-hour introductory workshops on edged-weapon response to organisations and businesses who have staff on the ‘front-line’.

The courses are aimed at companies who wish to provide their officers and staff with the basic knowledge and skills to deal with edged-weapon threats or assaults,” said de Matos, who has designed the programs to suit law-enforcement personnel such as police and security guards, as well as other professionals who may routinely face violent behaviour such as social workers, taxi drivers and medical staff.

De Matos, founder of Hakarac Martial Boxing and the Tudik Raan knife-response system, is a veteran bodyguard, crowd controller and security trainer. He regularly instructs various security and corrections companies, as well as law-enforcement and military personnel, through his RTO, TTS-100.
